POM-POM is a Halloween mask inspired by my kids: a colorful, fuzzy monster with animated eyes that give it a personality of its own.
Working with an AI agent through the Rive CLI, I developed the cardboard shell, printable templates, and an interactive construction guide. GPU Canvas renders the 3D previews so I can inspect the mask and watch individual pieces fold into shape before building them. The digital assembly preview accompanies the real construction—from printing templates to adding pom-poms layer by layer.
The eyes can switch between several different styles and colors for each eye. Luau scripting drives the interactions and eye behavior, Data Binding connects the controls to the previews, and State Machines start the animation loops. I also used GPU Canvas with a custom WGSL shader for fuzzy pom-pom transitions and backgrounds.
The result connects a playful digital character to a real costume that my kids won't stop fighting over.

Fun entry with a real world component! And has with wider implications most prolly won't even realize what this this kind of "toy" represents: product assembly tutorials folding carton & packaging visualizer, dieline tester?, or even maybe pepakura alternate for cosplayers ; all with personalization features
