Translating a heritage coastal aesthetic into large-scale interior applications was a welcome shift in my design rhythm. Requiring strict control over negative space, it offered a crisp contrast to the vibrant floral collections I frequently make.
For the Saltport Marina project, I engineered a collection of seamless surface patterns entirely around a disciplined, monochromatic ink-and-wash technique. By restricting the palette to deep blues and blacks on crisp white grounds, the focus shifts entirely to the technical repeat structures—staggered half-drops, interlocking ogees, and beaded diamond lattices.
The goal was to build a versatile, production-ready system that scales cleanly across multiple physical touchpoints, from heavy drapery and accent cushions to fine bed linens and wallcoverings.
