My Renoise × Contra Submission — "Summit of Us"

For this project, I wanted to tell a story that emotionally invests the viewer in a couple's journey. Together they hike across snow-capped mountains, navigate dangerous terrain, and push through every obstacle to reach what seems like their final destination.
The film was created in Renoise. I first storyboarded the entire narrative in Canvas, generated each shot using Kling 3.0, and then completed the edit with sound design and post-production. There are a few details I would have refined with more generation credits, but overall I'm proud of how it turned out.

60 seconds, autobiographical, every frame on a plan: childhood daydreams shot in degraded consumer formats (Kodachrome, broadcast NTSC, grainy 16mm), graduating into large-format cinema as the kid works out what he's been doing all along.

The Concept:
A cinematic, teal-and-orange midnight "heist" that ends with a relatable twist—the highly-skilled thief is just a guy sneaking into his fridge for a slice of chocolate cake! 🍰
Using Renoise for the first time was an absolute breeze. The platform is incredibly intuitive, flexible, and user-friendly. It seamlessly streamlined my workflow, making the entire process effortless and enjoyable without any steep learning curve getting in the way.

Here is my submission for Renoise Challenge.
Story: A gamer wakes up in the afternoon and suddenly realizes it's the release day of GTA VI. Panicking, he rushes to ask his mom something important, then sprints to his car after hearing the answer. When he finally reaches the game store, he's crushed to see a massive line of people already waiting, leaving him sitting in his car in tears after missing his chance.
