Portolan: Brand, Website & Film System. Portolan is my studio: it turns a live product website into a launch film in a day. I designed and built the whole thing end to end: the brand, the website and the film system behind it. A portolan was the first chart to show sailors the true line between two ports. The mark is drawn from it: three families of rhumb lines meeting at one point, the line from a product to the people it is for. The palette comes from the old charts too: ink for the line, red for the route, green for the sea, on a calm paper-white page. What I did: brand strategy, naming story and visual identity; website design and build; three film styles (Narrated, UI Motion, Cinematic) and the production pipeline that makes them from a live site; motion design and the brand film. Sample films are made from public websites to show each style and were not commissioned. Live: https://portolan.studio
Drawing the mark from an actual portolan chart, with rhumb lines for the line from a product to its people, is such a rich origin story, Heydar. Turning a live website into a launch film in a day through three film styles is an ambitious system. Beautiful end-to-end craft.

What happens when one website has to talk to two different people?
A client of ours teaches two audiences at once: expecting mothers who want a calm pregnancy, and women who want to become doulas. One brand, one site, two very different reasons to visit.
The usual fix is a hero that speaks to "everyone" and lands with no one. We designed it as a fork in the road instead:
1. Two doors in the hero. "I'm pregnant" and "I'm training to be a doula", side by side, equal weight. The visitor picks a path in one click, and the headline above them stays about the shared value.
2. One voice, two tones. The mothers' path is softer: fewer words, more room, gentle photos. The doula path is more structured: modules, certification, dates. Same fonts, same colors, different rhythm.
One proof section, split in two. Testimonials from mothers on the left, from doulas on the right. Each visitor sees people like them before the price.
Writing for everyone is writing for no one. Give each reader a door.
