"Verified email" means different things to different vendors. Here's what it means on my lists —
1. The address is published by the company itself — on their site, careers page, or press page — not guessed from a firstname.lastname pattern.
2. The page it came from was live on the day I checked, and that date is in the row.
3. The source URL sits in the row next to the email, so you can check it yourself before you hit send.
What it does NOT mean — a guarantee the person replies, or that they'll still be there in six months. Anyone promising "zero bounces" is selling you confidence, not data.
On a phone, can a visitor tell what you do in five seconds?
Is the next step to contact you obvious without scrolling or hunting?
Does the inquiry form work end to end?
I just opened a 48-hour written website conversion audit for owners who want a prioritized fix list before paying for a full rebuild. It is $295, fully async, and includes annotated screenshots plus a recorded walkthrough: https://contra.com/s/kBoWYYUA-48-hour-website-conversion-audit
The Greenline project on my profile is original demonstration work, not a client case study.
Despite often appearing subjective, great copy can be objectively measured.
We can tell what separates bad copy from good copy in B2B, and what separates good copy from great copy.
Here's all you need to know if you want your B2B copy to get more conversions and you to receive more clients.
- 80% of decision-makers preferred plain-language copy. In the same test, demo requests increased from 44% to 73% after the copy was simplified.
- An analysis of 10,000+ cold emails found response rates of around 12% for emails between 50 and 75 words, compared with just 2% for emails over 200 words.
- Great copywriters have a talent to translate features into benefits: an essential skill for writing great copy.
- Be specific in your copy. Mention the bottleneck, opportunity, or business situation that makes your offer relevant.
- Always tell the reader what to do next. But give them only one step at a time! Don't ask prospects to book a call, download a guide, follow you, read your blog, and subscribe—all at once. One message. One action.
These are some clear ways, backed by studies, on how to make your B2B copy great. Use the information wisely and make your work stand out
