One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in sales:
Some of the best conversations start with a “no.”
A prospect says:
“I’m not interested.”
My old instinct would have been to move on.
Now, I pause.
Sometimes “not interested” really means:
“I don’t understand it yet.”
“I’m busy.”
“I’ve heard this before.”
“Give me a reason to continue.”
That doesn’t mean pushing someone who clearly wants to end the conversation.
It means learning to recognize the difference between a real objection and a conversation that simply hasn’t been understood yet.
Good appointment setting isn’t about forcing a yes.
It’s about knowing when there’s still a conversation worth having.
What’s one objection you hear all the time in sales?
