Exploring glass-like cell division simulations in Blender.
This piece focuses on procedural animation, material development, lighting, and motion design aesthetics.
Created entirely in Blender.
The translucent membrane quality is really convincing here. Getting that kind of subsurface scattering without it looking overcooked is tricky in Blender. Did you use geometry nodes for the cell division simulation or was the growth hand-keyed?
Thanks! The growth wasn't generated with Geometry Nodes in this case. Most of the motion was animated manually and then refined through shading, lighting, and rendering. Really appreciate the feedback on the subsurface effect 🙌

This looks really satisfying visually. I like how the glass-like cell effect feels clean, detailed, and almost futuristic without being too heavy. The lighting and material work make it feel very polished, like a small 3D experiment that could easily turn into a bigger visual system.

A principal product designer had a set of polished Figma designs and recorded app videos, but needed them turned into a short reel that felt cohesive, intentional, and portfolio-ready.
I built the full motion piece in Jitter: trimming and cropping recordings, sequencing product screens, creating transitions, and shaping the pacing into a 50-second 4K showreel.
The work was less about adding flashy animation and more about giving the product design the right rhythm, flow, and presentation quality.
