I managed to port the game to Unity and spent most of the time adjusting the lighting and the atmosphere so the game has a good contrast and depth.
The earlier versions looked flat and boring so I changed the art style from grimey rust to dark neon blue again - similar to the threejs prototype.
I also added the option to play the game with twin joysticks instead of an auto shooter. It's more of a challenge.
The UI is still terrible. I had Codex assemple all the ui into prefabs yesterday so I can adjust it myself as I'm not particularly good at Unity and can't edit UI through code yet.

Switching to twin joysticks over auto shoot is the right call for that arena layout, gives players a reason to actually aim. Honest touch admitting the UI still needs work, most devs would just not mention it.

Thank you - Yeah, it makes the game more fun as you need to become good at it to survive. As for the ui, might as well admit it first before someone else does it :)

Respect for admitting the UI still needs work instead of just showing the highlight reel. Now that Codex handled assembling the prefabs, is adjusting them by hand actually faster, or did it just move the bottleneck somewhere else?

I think I'm the bottleneck now since I don't know much about creating UI in Unity. It would probably be faster if I just created the UI in Figma and told Codex to implement it, but I've wanted to learn Unity for a while so I'm using it as a way to learn.
... for now at least. I...
