The obvious way to build a restaurant ordering website is: Menu → Cart → Checkout → Payment → Order dashboard I built the cart and skipped everything after it. South Zone already accepted orders through WhatsApp. The team didn’t need another dashboard to monitor while running a busy kitchen. The real friction was on the customer’s side: browsing 170 dishes, selecting variants, calculating the total and typing the order manually. So I digitised that part. Customers get a proper menu and cart experience. When they finish, the website turns everything into one structured WhatsApp message containing the dishes, quantities, prices and customer details. The restaurant keeps using the workflow it already knows. Sometimes the most senior engineering decision is the system you refuse to build. Read the full breakdown from the link in the comments.
