Most founders don't have a "building" problem.

I ran into this while building FashionPass, a clothing rental subscription app.
Subscriptions, inventory, returns, and billing all need to work together before the first customer can rent anything.
The fix wasn't more features. It was shipping a thin, working version first, then adding on top.
That's how I work as a technical partner for startup founders: fewer meetings, working software early.

After a speed networking event, I came home with a stack of business cards and a problem: remembering the people, conversations, and promises behind them.

Scan a business card, keep the details that matter, and turn “great meeting you” into a meaningful follow-up. An interactive living deck brings your contacts to life, while reminders and personalized drafts help you take the next step.
I designed Carddek around the moments networking tools often miss: where you met, what stood out, what you offered, and what you wanted to do next.
My process started with a real experience, grew into a visual identity inspired by physical cards, and evolved through hands-on testing of scanning, card interactions, and mobile layouts. The accompanying video pairs that story with a look inside the app.
The business card still has a place. Now the conversation has somewhere to continue.

Scan, remember, follow up. Great fix for a real networking problem. Did you build this from a pain you felt yourself after an event?
Your product is solid. Your ads are running. You post every week.
But the leads still don’t come. Why???
Most founders think personal branding means posting daily. It doesn’t.
And here’s the painful part:
Every week you stay unclear, someone with a weaker product but a clearer message gets the calls. You pay for ads while your own profile does nothing.
Your personal branding doesn’t bring revenue when your content:
1. Talks about the product, not the problem.
Don’t just share feature updates. Show the client’s problem and how your product solves it.
2. Tries to talk to everyone.
Pick one specific client you want to attract and write only for them.
3. Has no point of view.
Tell people why you chose to solve this problem and what you believe about it.
4. Never tells a story.
You built this product for a reason. Share it. Stories make a stranger trust you before the first call.
Before you post, ask:
→ Who exactly is this for?
→ What pain does it name?
→ What do I believe about it that others don’t?
If you can’t answer all 3, the post isn’t ready.
Personal branding isn’t about being visible. It’s about being clear to the right people.
