Zooly is the brand mascot and the AI chat assistant for a pet boarding SaaS. He is built entirely in Rive and runs live in production at zooly.pet.
He is a working assistant with real tooling. He pulls live booking data, raises support tickets, and searches the knowledge base to answer questions. Helpful, useful, and fun.
He also reacts to what happens in the app. Confirm a booking and he fist pumps, open the chat and he waves, go idle and he drifts from bored to sleepy, and he cracks animal jokes and laughs at them. His eyes follow your cursor, and 160+ contextual lines keep him from repeating himself.
How it is built:
One ZoolyStates state machine. A mood input drives 8 fully rigged poses (idle, talking, roar, happy, excited, curious, bored, sleepy) at 60fps.
A second Expression overlay layer composites gestures (wave, fist pump, curious tilt, laugh) over the current mood, driven by a Rive View Model.
2D eye tracking binds lookX and lookY to the cursor position.
The rig is built for a whole cast. Every character shares the same numeric contract, so each app domain gets its own mascot with a personality suited to it. A falcon runs security, a penguin runs care, a quokka runs bookings. They render Zooly's rig as stand-ins until their artwork is commissioned.
That cast also cuts decision fatigue. Each character only raises what matters in its own domain, so who is talking to you tells you what kind of thing it is before you read a word.
Interactions: eyes follow the cursor, right click to roar, rub his belly for excited, drag him and his arms go up.
