this is really hard =) but for an app icon, I’m pretty sure it should be the lighter one so it stands out more among all the others

Option 1, no contest. The teal-to-emerald gradient lets the icon recede into a single chromatic family, which is what makes the wordmark feel like jewelry instead of a sticker. Option 2’s lavender-into-green creates a complementary clash that your eye has to resolve before it...
