Can we actually feel the difference between human-written and AI-generated content?
AI is everywhere these days. And while it has become incredibly good at creating content, I had an interesting discussion with a client today that made me think about something beyond quality, grammar, or SEO optimization.
We were talking about engagement on posts written by humans versus those generated by AI. And one observation stood out: sometimes, even the smallest differences in wording can change how people respond.
Maybe we’re better at recognizing human input than we think. Not necessarily on a conscious level, but through something harder to measure — the personality, emotion, and energy behind the words.
Of course, this is a hypothesis, not a proven fact. But it raises an interesting question:
Can we somehow sense when a piece of content has a human touch — even if we can’t explain exactly why?
And there’s another side to this conversation: SEO.
In one of our recent projects, we saw how just two well-crafted, search-intent-focused pieces of content helped move the project into the top 3 for targeted search queries within a month.
No need to publish dozens of articles just for the sake of it. Sometimes, the right content, built around the right search intent, can make a real difference.

5 Common AI Prompting Mistakes That Lead to Generic Results
If AI keeps giving you generic answers, the problem might not be the model. It might be how you're prompting it.
AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude can help with writing, research, brainstorming, and business tasks. But the quality of their output depends partly on how clearly you communicate what you need.
Here are five common mistakes to avoid:
1. Being too vague.
“Write a good marketing email.”
Good for whom? About what? With what goal? The AI has to guess what you trully want, often leading to generic and/or false answers.
Clearly define the objective, audience, and desired outcome.
2. Leaving out context.
AI doesn't automatically know your business, brand voice, product, or situation. It can do a lot of thing, but it can't read minds... yet, maybe in the future. You should always provide the relevant background information it needs to produce a useful response.
3. Giving conflicting instructions.
Asking for a detailed explanation in 50 words, for example, can create competing demands. Prioritize your requirements and clarify what matters most when trade-offs are necessary.
Just imagine you're giving instructions to a toddler, you'd be surprised on how similar those two actually are. The core strategy is to say exactly what you want them to do using short, direct commands instead of asking questions or using negative phrases.
4. Forgetting to define the output format.
Need a table, email, checklist, or step-by-step guide? Say so. Specifying the format makes the result easier to use and reduces unnecessary restructuring.
We're trying to avoid you having to manually reformat a massive wall of text. You have a tool to do it for you, so use it.
5. Accepting the first answer without reviewing it.
Even a well-written prompt can produce inaccurate facts, weak reasoning, or unsuitable content. Review the output, verify important claims, and refine your instructions when necessary.
You'd never take something a toddler told you as law, and you should have the exact same behavior with AI.
The bigger lesson?
A prompt isn't about finding a magic phrase. It's about giving AI the information and direction it needs to do the job well, nothing more.
Better prompts won't guarantee perfect answers, but clear objectives, relevant context, and thoughtful iteration can make AI outputs more useful and consistent.
So, before switching models because you're unhappy with the results, try improving the instructions first.

UNLEARN THE VIEW | A critical thinking experiment
This is the first website I've built from scratch. I've worked on websites before, including edits and customizations, but I'd never built one myself. I'd also never used AI quite like this before. I've been wanting to participate in one of Contra's Challenges for a while, and I'd been saving this idea for the right opportunity.
Over the past four days, I (and the machines) have brought UNLEARN THE VIEW to life: an interactive experience exploring perception, recognition, and possibility through historical references and decolonial thought.
The timing feels especially significant. Today, in my country, we're making decisions about our future and our democracy. Election days can bring hope, fear, exhaustion, and difficult conversations. In moments like these, I keep coming back to how important critical thinking is: understanding where our beliefs come from and whose stories we've been taught not to see.
Decolonial thinking is still new to me, and I'm learning as I go. It's a way of questioning what we've accepted as natural or inevitable. It's not comfortable, but I believe it's necessary, and that kind of questioning is something we all need.
I'm still learning how to build this experience, both technically and conceptually. This is my first time creating a website from the ground up, and part of the process is embracing the learning process instead of waiting until I know everything.
Visually, the project draws from two different places: old political and revolutionary posters, and the experimental personal websites many of us grew up exploring in the early internet era. I was drawn to that feeling of discovery, when following a link could lead you somewhere unexpected. Today, we're surrounded by too much information, yet it can feel harder to know where to look and what to trust. My experiment brings these references together to explore that tension.
UNLEARN THE VIEW isn't meant to give answers. It's an invitation to look closer, question what feels familiar, and make room for what we've overlooked.
There's no login, nothing to buy, and no personal data to hand over. Just an experience to explore, questions to sit with, and maybe something to take with you. What you do with it is your choice.
What we choose to do with what we see is up to us.
I also made my debut on X with this project, and I think it could be a great platform to keep sharing ideas and resources around critical thinking, questioning dominant narratives, and making room for perspectives we don't often hear.
