Each has its place depending on the business stage and context. But after four SAP implementations and 25+ years as CFO, I reached a firm conclusion: the best budgets are still built in Excel. Not because ERP systems lack power — but because Excel allows you to integrate experience, judgment, and business logic that no system can fully replicate.
