For this 1-minute short film, I intentionally engineered the first 6 seconds using high-energy phonk music and rapid, beat-synced visual cuts to create an instant pattern interrupt [00:00]. Once I locked in the viewer's attention, I dropped the beat into a sudden silence [00:13] and transitioned into a slow, atmospheric narrative about how studying cinema shaped my creative lens [00:15], [00:32]. Great editing is a balance of psychology and storytelling. It’s knowing how to use rhythm and sound design to hook an audience in the opening seconds, and knowing how to pace the story so they stay until the final frame [00:48]. I wrote, shot, color graded, and edited this piece from scratch.
