I’ve been working closely with our PR team at the company I work for and noticed how often they need to ask the design team for relatively simple, on-brand imagery or hack something together in Figma themselves. Then I came across this Toolcraft article and thought it would be interesting to see how quickly I could turn that small workflow problem into a custom tool: https://pixelpoint.io/blog/how-to-craft-personal-design-tools-with-toolcraft/ The result is an internal tool where you can upload an image, apply the brand gradient and typography, make a few adjustments, and export it. That’s it. Simple. Previously, this would mean a brand designer had to create and maintain a Figma template for the PR team—or produce the images individually for each request. A small task that could easily become a bottleneck for both teams. Now, the PR team can quickly create on-brand images for social media and other channels themselves. It’s amazing how easy it has become to build tools like this now. With AI and frameworks like Toolcraft, you can go from noticing a repetitive task to having a useful, purpose-built tool within a couple of hours. It doesn’t need to become a product or solve every possible use case. Sometimes it can just make one small workflow a little easier.
