I’m Paul. I got my first design job in Arizona, spent many years in San Francisco, and now call Portland home, along with my wife and our two-year-old pup, Penny

I’m old enough to remember installing Photoshop (v2) from a stack of floppies, which were packaged in a box that you brought home from the local computer store. I witnessed the birth of the Internet, coded website layouts using only tables (there was no CSS), and lived through the browser wars. Back then, mice had balls, SCSI ruled, and online video was the size of a postage stamp.

A lot has changed during my career, but the fundamentals of good design live on.
