MOULIVRÉE - 1892 Montmartre Lithography Meets 2035 Autonomous Delivery
I started with two Toulouse-Lautrec stone lithographs from 1892, Divan Japonais and The Englishman at the Moulin Rouge, both CC0 through The Met. Lautrec documented late-night Paris better than anyone, which made his world the right place to satirize modern 2am delivery culture.
I built a custom Recraft V4 Style around his visual signatures: flat ochre and terracotta ink planes, spattered crachis grain, and slightly mean caricatures. The goal was to run that 19th-century printmaking style straight into modern tech laziness.
Seven frames, one order across Belle Époque Paris: two croissants, one sandwich, two hot chocolates. It opens with an aristocratic couple tapping a cast-iron street kiosk outside the Opéra, moves into the cloud bakery where a smug French Master Baker sits with his espresso while his humanoid AI Sous-Chef handles the 200°C oven, and ends above the gaslit boulevards as a quadcopter drone delivers the order straight onto the couple's wrought-iron Haussmann balcony.
