It's my wedding anniversary today!
And I have noticed my wife and my design clients have more in common than I'd like to admit. 🥶
On our 12th wedding anniversary, here are 5 similarities I've discovered:
1. "Just one small request."
It never is.
2. They know exactly what they don't want.
Explaining what they do want is another story.
3. If they're quiet for too long...
Something big is coming.
4. They'll ask for your opinion.
Then already have a preferred answer.
5. When they're happy...
Every late night suddenly feels worth it.
Happy anniversary to my favorite client... who pays exclusively in love, unsolicited feedback, and the occasional eye roll.

I personally think Video backgrounds in hero or anywhere can really make a huge difference if used properly.

The video hero definitely gives it a more premium, lived-in feel compared to a static image. Did you test it against a static version to see if it actually moved the needle on conversions, or was it more of a gut call?
In 2026, great design is about more than looking good. The real challenge is creating something that stands out in a world where AI can generate polished layouts in seconds.
Strong UX and structure are the foundation, but the details make the difference: bold typography, unique compositions, subtle accents, and thoughtful visual rhythm.
For these two hero sections, we explored two different directions. Version 1 is clean and typography-driven, while Version 2 adds supporting cards and decorative elements for more depth and personality.
