Built a 24/7 AI voice receptionist for ModernGI Care (gastroenterology practice) using Retell AI. The agent handles inbound patient calls, answers common questions about services, hours, and insurance, captures intake information, and routes complex cases to staff. Designed to reduce front-desk call load and capture after-hours appointment requests that would otherwise be missed.
Having the AI receptionist answer after hours calls should keep appointments from slipping through and free the front desk from constant call juggling
I'd test the after-hours handoff with callers who mention urgent symptoms in the middle of scheduling. Does the agent switch to a defined escalation path, and can staff review the original call alongside its summary?

Pixie gets my vote too. Naming it after your cat makes it memorable, and it feels a lot friendlier for a tool people trust with their code. Nice rebrand.
