A few months ago, after spending years working in marketing, I decided to go all in and start building my own web design studio.
I’ve been using Contra for around 3 months, and until recently I hadn’t closed a single project here.
Then, in the space of one week, everything changed.
I went from $0 closed on the platform to $3K earned.
Honestly, seeing that happen after so many hours working, learning, improving my portfolio, posting, applying, and staying consistent feels really good.
It’s a reminder that sometimes it looks like nothing is moving… until suddenly it is.
Very happy to share this milestone, and even more motivated for what’s next.
And for anyone who’s still in that phase where nothing seems to happen yet: you’re probably closer than you think. Things really can change fast.
The $0 for 3 months followed by $3K in a week is exactly how this platform tends to work. Consistency compounds slowly, then all at once. Congrats on hitting that first inflection point.
Fill my hear to read this, congratulations!
The struggle is real till it isn't. -- So I ask this to everyone on Contra who reaches such milestones - what are the top 3 things you would say impacted this result here on contra?
Great work!
Three months of nothing then one week that changed everything is such a relatable freelance story. Patience and persistence finally paying off, congrats on the breakthrough
Ledger — AI CFO Platform
Ledger is an AI platform that acts as an always-on Chief Financial Officer for founders — connecting to accounts, learning cash rhythm, and surfacing risks before they become real problems. I designed the full landing page.
My role: UI/UX Design
Scope: Landing page
Financial tools for founders usually feel either cold (dashboards) or intimidating (accounting software).
For Ledger, we borrowed from old-world institutional finance instead — serif type, oil-painting textures, classical architecture — so an AI CFO feels like real authority, not another app.
