A cinematic Halloween mystery built around a seemingly peaceful family moment that transforms into a supernatural encounter. Children mysteriously disappear from their swings, strange creatures emerge, and a dark supernatural presence turns the garden into an eerie nightmare.
Created as a sequence of atmospheric animated scenes, combining cinematic storytelling, character motion, suspense, and AI-assisted visual development for the Rive Halloween Challenge.
Spooky Glow is an interactive Halloween pumpkin character created in Rive. I brought the character to life with playful bouncing and rotation, expressive eye blinking, and a mysterious purple glow that creates a spooky Halloween atmosphere.
Key Features
Animated Character: Bouncing and rotation add lively, playful movement.
Interactive Blinking: A State Machine trigger lets users activate the pumpkin’s eye-blink animation.
Spooky Visual Effects: A purple glow adds atmosphere and visual depth.
State Machine Interaction: Animation states and triggers combine to create an engaging character experience.
Why I Built It
I wanted to create a fun, expressive Halloween character while exploring Rive animation, State Machines, interactive triggers, and visual effects. My goal was to combine character animation with an immersive spooky atmosphere in a small, interactive experience.
Here's my spooky submission for the @Rive Halloween challenge: Candy Pail Monsters!
It's a roguelike TCG built entirely in Rive using CLI, GPU canvas, the brush tools, state machines, and more. It's playable on your desktop, tablet, and phone!
