Sharetribe Marketplaces: From No-Code Launch to Fully Custom Platform I build and customize two-sided marketplaces on Sharetribe, for founders who need more than the template but don't want to abandon the platform to get it.

What I actually do

Most Sharetribe marketplaces on the market fall into one of two buckets: a generic template that never got past the demo stage, or a build that quietly outgrew no-code and needed real engineering underneath it. I work in that second bucket.

That's meant building custom transaction logic Sharetribe doesn't ship by default: subscription tiers that waive platform fees for paying members, negotiation and counteroffer flows between buyers and sellers, multi-step approval workflows before payment releases, and full localization treatments (including right-to-left languages) built into the core pages rather than translated on top. It's also meant knowing when none of that is needed yet, and helping a founder launch lean on the no-code layer first to validate the idea before spending on custom work.

purfurry.com — a pet boarding marketplace with a custom provider vetting flow and a custom payment gateway integration, built on Sharetribe.

kindershare.com — a baby gear rental marketplace, also on Sharetribe, with the booking and inventory logic tailored to a rental (not purchase) model.

Both are live, production platforms, not test-mode demos.

How I work

Milestone-based delivery with a clear scope and price attached to each phase, so you know what you're getting and when. Design decisions get benchmarked against products like Stripe, Linear, and Notion rather than default Sharetribe styling. And because I've worked across Sharetribe's plan tiers, I can tell you upfront whether your feature list needs Extend (live custom code, full API access) or whether Pro or Lite genuinely covers it, so you're not overpaying for infrastructure you don't need yet.
