For the Base44 × Contra #GiveItAGlow challenge, I chose Old Pueblo Soapery, a family-owned bath essentials business in Tucson, Arizona.
After closing its brick-and-mortar store, the business shifted to online local sales, local pickup, and Tucson-area markets. That made its website more important than ever as both a storefront and a way for customers to discover products, find markets, and stay connected.
I redesigned the site into a warmer, more interactive experience inspired by Southern Arizona and small-batch craftsmanship.
The new website includes:
A responsive shopping experience
Improved product discovery and filtering
A personalized product finder
A custom gift-box builder
Stronger Tucson and Vail storytelling
Upcoming market information
Local pickup and shipping pathways
A dedicated wholesale experience
A protected operations dashboard
The new site makes it easier for customers to browse, discover products, build gifts, find local markets, and complete a purchase.
It also gives Old Pueblo Soapery a stronger online identity that better reflects the handmade quality of its products and supports how the business operates today.
Automations
I also built automations to save the owner time and support growth:
Subscriber follow-up: Automatically sends welcome emails or WhatsApp messages, product information, market details, and custom coupons.
Coupon generation: Creates unique codes, prevents duplicates, and tracks delivery and redemption.
Arizona market discovery: Finds relevant markets and vendor opportunities, then organizes dates, fees, deadlines, and requirements.
Draft market applications: Prepares applications for the owner to review and submit.
Wholesale review: Analyzes wholesale requests and drafts responses for approval.
Batch tracking: Updates finished-product inventory and deducts raw materials when a batch is completed.
Approval-based reordering: Creates low-stock reorder recommendations with supplier details, quantities, estimated costs, and purchase links.
The Result
The finished project is more than a visual redesign. It gives customers a better way to shop and connect with the brand while helping the owner manage subscribers, markets, wholesale requests, production, inventory, and reordering with less repetitive work.
For a business now centered on e-commerce and local Tucson markets, the new website functions as both a stronger storefront and a practical operating system.
Disclaimer: The payment process is fully operational, but it is not connected to the actual Old Pueblo business. Please do not purchase any items from the Base44 glow-up website.
