Rebranding Syrianairline identity - Redesign Competition
Inspiration from the Phoenix as a symbol of revival and rebirth, and from the movement of flight as a symbol of moving forward toward the future, while incorporating the symbolism of mosaic to represent an integrated national identity.
The national identity is reflected in the logo, whose essence is based on the traditional form of the word “Syria,” in respect for the history of the logo and the competition requirements to preserve its authenticity. It has been renewed with modern touches that add dynamism and fluidity, reflecting the spirit of renewal and openness.
The design incorporates the form of the Phoenix, the mythical bird that rises from the ashes, symbolizing the spirit of Syria rising again despite all circumstances. The movement of the wings reflects takeoff, flight, and connection, while the negative space at the heart of the design forms the Arabic letter (و) from the word (سوريا) symbolizing a missing element within a mosaic. Without this essential piece, the whole remains incomplete—reflecting the idea that every element contributes to the identity, unity, and completeness of Syria
Elements & Symbols
Phoenix: A symbol of resilience, renewal, and rebirth.
Mosaic: Represents the diversity and integration of Syrian society, where every piece contributes to the whole.
Negative Space (the letter “واو”): Represents the “present absence”—the homeland in its emotional and symbolic dimension. “The homeland is not complete without all its parts.”
Colors: Inspired by the Syrian flag, reflecting belonging, strength, and national identity.
The Message
Just as a mosaic cannot be complete without every piece, Syria cannot be unified without every one of its people.
Syrian Airlines is the Phoenix that rises from the heart of the homeland, connecting its people wherever they are, renewing its presence, preserving its essence, and soaring toward a brighter future.
