THE PEACOCK | Creative Writing, Essay & Editorial Project The Peacock is a personal essay published on TABLE FOR NOBODY about solitude, attraction, vanity, and the absurd things we do when someone makes us feel alive again. Set in a Berlin shelter, the piece follows a man who catches himself performing the role of the charming gentleman, moving between rooms, offering unsolicited advice, and trying to look completely unbothered. He knows exactly what he's doing. He just can't stop. The project combines autobiographical storytelling, dark humour, literary observation, and an unpolished, conversational voice. It explores the gap between the person we think we are and the ridiculous creature we become when we want to be liked. An essay
THE CURRENCY OF FAIRNESS An essay and an original song about money, power, and the invisible economies of human survival. From Wall Street to a Berlin shelter, every place has its own currency. Some transactions happen in money. Others happen in cigarettes, favours, access, or the quiet expectation that someone owes you something. Drawing on the economic thinking of Maffeo Pantaleoni and the informal exchanges of everyday life, this essay examines the price of fairness, the rules people invent when official systems fall short, and the uncomfortable truth that even generosity can become a transaction. The idea then moves into music, extending the essay's exploration of value, obligation, and survival into another form. Two forms, one question: what is fairness worth when everyone has something to gain and something to lose?
