We’ve created a truly user-friendly free website for video references: https://10000refs.me
We built it for ourselves, but we just had to share it with the industry.
What’s included:
Already 2,500 manually curated references from the worlds of Motion Design, CGI, 3D, animation, and advertising.
Convenient search by industry, video type, medium, keywords, and (my favorite) color palette.
An (almost) endless player that you can run on a second monitor, TV, or projector to boost your viewing experience in the background.
Why 10,000? It was Konstantin Stepanchuk’s idea to adapt the 10,000-hour theory to 10,000 videos with his personal selection — and to grow our taste and expertise in our industry.
Oh, and yes—it’s free.
A like, repost, or comment would be the best reward — for example: tag a friend who’s always asking, “Hey, do you remember that reference?”).

Creative Lead at Vertex.CGI — the Dubai studio. For two and a half years I owned the idea end-to-end: pitching to global brands, then directing shoots, CGI and sound to the final frame. The project I led generated over 450 million organic views — and each individual video garnered at least three times the median number of views on the channel.
