SHUO is an original mascot created for "House of Stories", a fictional storytelling brand dedicated to preserving memories, imagination, and human connection through stories.
Inspired by the wisdom traditionally associated with Chinese dragons, Shuo reimagines that symbolism as a warm, approachable Story Keeper who travels from village to village collecting stories instead of treasures. Every conversation, memory, and adventure becomes part of the ever-growing House of Stories.
Rather than designing only a mascot, I built a complete visual identity system around Shuo, ensuring the character remains instantly recognizable across multiple styles and touchpoints. From a custom bilingual wordmark, brand colors, and character system to merchandise, stickers, posters, social media, 3D interpretations, cinematic concepts, and animation, every application was designed to feel like it belongs to the same world.
This project explores how a single mascot can become the heart of a fictional brand through consistent design, storytelling, and scalable visual identity.

Name: SHUO (θ―΄)
Role: The Story Keeper
Personality: Wise, curious, gentle, patient, humble, and endlessly imaginative.
Shuo believes every person carries a story worth remembering. Instead of searching for treasure, he travels the world collecting forgotten memories, inspiring people to share their experiences, and reminding us that stories are what connect generations.

For me, this project wasn't about creating another mascot. It was about creating a character people would want to follow. A character who could tell stories on social media today, appear in an animated short tomorrow, and one day become the hero of a feature film all while remaining unmistakably Shuo.

It starts like the childhood story of a young footballer and his loyal dog chasing an impossible dream... but there's a twist at the end. β½πΆπ¬
I created this cinematic style video using Renoise for video generation and image generation. One feature I really appreciated in Renoise was its "Facepass" which reviews images for my fictional child character, this made it possible to move forward with the project after the content was evaluated instead of stopping the creative process outright.π
