This project takes the form of an illustrated children’s book, part of the fictional collection “Marias com muita coragem” (“Marias with great courage”), dedicated to celebrating women who shaped the history of Portuguese Design and Visual Culture.
The first volume focuses on Maria Keil, a pioneering artist and designer whose legacy remains underrepresented. Through biography, illustration, and interactive activities, the book introduces children (ages 9–12) to her work while raising awareness of the role of women in design.
Conceived as both an editorial object and a cultural mediation tool, it combines thoughtful design choices with an educational mission: to foster visual and historical literacy, diversify cultural references, and empower young readers to imagine and create.

For the 2023 edition of T&G, Portugal's oldest graphic arts magazine, I was invited to design the cover and back cover — both a challenge and an honor. Rooted in the theme of Sustainability in the Graphic Industry, the design creates a dialogue between print and the natural world.
The illustration portrays a girl reading in harmony with nature, surrounded by thoughtful details: squirrels holding CMYK ink cartridges, a fish symbolizing protected marine life, and trees sprouting as books. Each element transforms sustainability into a visual narrative — light, playful, and meaningful.
Selected as the winning design, the project was featured on the cover and was accompanied by an article inside, where I shared the story behind the concept.
