American-English Teacher and Communication Coach

New to Contra

Amira is ready for their next project!

Over the past four years, I’ve worked with many students from many different countries and professional backgrounds helping them build confidence, strengthen their speaking skills, prepare for interviews and exams, and communicate more effectively in English. These video testimonials represent much more than language improvement. They represent career growth, international opportunities, personal development, and life-changing achievements. I’m incredibly grateful to every student who has trusted me to be part of their journey. Their progress and success stories are the most meaningful part of my career.

Cover image for School English and workplace English
School English and workplace English are completely different. Many professionals studied English for years… Yet still feel nervous in meetings. Why? Because schools often teach: ▪ grammar rules ▪ tests ▪ memorization But real workplaces require: ▪ discussion ▪ persuasion ▪ presentations ▪ negotiation ▪ confidence Professional English is a communication skill. Not an academic subject. If you want to improve your speaking confidence and professional communication skills, feel free to book a lesson with me through Calendly.

I don’t consider myself an English teacher. I consider myself a communication coach. Because the truth is… Most students can learn grammar on their own. Today, there are countless free resources online: videos, apps, websites, AI tools, textbooks. The real problem is not lack of information. It’s lack of practice. Many professionals, students, and job seekers simply do not have someone to practice speaking with consistently. And that’s where I come in. I help my students: practice speaking confidently apply the grammar they studied use new vocabulary naturally improve pronunciation become comfortable communicating in real conversations I correct mistakes. I guide conversations. I create a safe space for growth. And I love my job so much. Because it’s not just about English. It’s about changing people's lives. Over the past four years, I’ve seen students achieve incredible things. One of my students, an airline pilot from Brazil, spent weeks preparing with me before his job interview with Qatar Airways. We practiced interview questions, communication under pressure, pronunciation, confidence, and natural conversation skills. He got the job. And that opportunity gave him a much higher salary so he could better support his family back home in Brazil. Another student, a chef from Spain, successfully passed his U.S. visa interview and is now working at a restaurant in Los Angeles. I helped a student from China achieve the IELTS score she needed to study at a university in Australia. She wants to be a nurse someday, just like her grandmother. And these are only a few of countless success stories. That’s why I love teaching online. As a single mother, teaching from home changed my life too. Between lessons, I get to spend time with my son. I get to be present for his growth. I get to build a career while still being there for him every day. That means everything to me. I truly cannot imagine doing anything else. Helping people communicate more confidently… Helping them create better opportunities… Helping them change their lives… This is more than just a job to me. It’s my passion. It’s my purpose. And I’m incredibly grateful for it every single day.
