Designed and wrote original gothic vampire horror novel — Dario Vega Book 5: The Prague Coffin (20,000 words).
Project Details:
After Book 4: The-City-That-Remembers, Dario Vega is wounded and needs healing. The Prague Coffin moves every midnight on Charles Bridge, holding Van Helsing's original stake. This book connects all previous books:
Book 1 Black Rose of Capistrano → Black rose grows on coffin
Book 2 Cathedral of Shadows → Prague underground cathedral
Book 3 Thirteenth Window → Anna's attic window
Book 4 City-That-Remembers → Wound that remembers
Leads to Van Helsing Book 6 The Budapest Heart
What I did:
Original story concept + 12-chapter plot with logic (Why coffin moves, why Prague, moral choice ending)
Book cover design — Gothic castle, moving coffin, blue lantern, horror atmosphere
Kobo description + keywords + author note for Kobo approval (After 8 Days and Budapest Heart rejection fix)
Full series continuity
Tools: Canva AI, Photoshop, Story writing
Genre: Gothic Horror / Vampire Thriller

The Black Rose of Capistrano — BOOK 1: Dario Vega
An Original Gothic Adventure
Where it all began. Before Dario Vega became the haunted investigator of Venice, Prague, and the city that never forgets... he was in California. Mission Capistrano. A black rose that shouldn't bloom. A masked figure that shouldn't exist.
This is Book 1 origin — Gothic Western meets paranormal mystery. I wanted a cover that feels different from my Van Helsing London fog — Hot, dusty, ruined Spanish mission, but still that same gothic dread.
The masked cowboy with a black rose = Dario Vega's first curse. The ruined monastery behind him? That's Capistrano itself — beautiful, crumbling, and hiding something in the bells.
Design breakdown:
Genre mash: Gothic + Western + Mystery — Very niche, needed to stand out on Kobo thumbnail
Typography: Weathered gold serif "THE BLACK ROSE OF CAPISTRANO" — Old wanted poster feel
Mood: Dusty sepia + cold moonlight — The rose is the only color
Character focus: Masked Dario holding the Black Rose — Instant icon for Book 1
First book in the Dario Vega saga — Prequel to The City That Remembers, The City That Never Forgets Earth, etc.

an Helsing: Shadows Beyond — BOOK EIGHT — The Venice House Is Awake
The newest entry in my Van Helsing Chronicles series — and the most personal one yet.
After 7 books of Van Helsing hunting alone in foggy London, Budapest, Prague... this time he's not alone. Venice brings not just a house that is AWAKE, but a past that won't let go.
Story vibe for cover: Moonlit Venice, Grand Canal at midnight, a house with eyes in the clouds watching them, lantern light as the only protection. I wanted romance + dread in same frame.
This cover shows the shift in Book 8 — From lone hunter to protector. The glowing Venice basilica in back, the haunted sky face, the red title "IS AWAKE" — everything is alive.
What I did:
Full concept & storyboarding
Character design (Van Helsing + Elena)
Gothic horror composition + Venice atmosphere
Typography: Classic Van Helsing red distressed + gold author name
Kobo + Amazon + IngramSpark print-ready files
Book 8 in Van Helsing: Shadows Beyond series.
Live process: Book 7 just published, Book 8 in final edit — Cover reveal!
