I've been redesigning my own AI assistant. Meet Donna. I didn't build this from zero — I took an open-source base (Mark-L by FatihMakes) and reshaped it into something of my own: new personality, new features, a different architecture in places, and a lot of debugging to make it actually reliable. Donna runs locally on my machine, watches my clipboard, wakes up when I clap three times or say her name, and can learn tasks by watching me do them once. A few things she does: 🎙️ Wake word + clap detection (no button, just talk) 📋 Floating clipboard assistant that follows your cursor 🧠 "Learn from demonstration" — record a workflow, she replays it 🔋 Auto-switches API keys when one hits a rate limit 💻 Runs fully on Windows, PyQt6 under the hood Right now I'm deep in a regression-fix pass — hunting bugs from an earlier version of the codebase and making sure every feature works the way it's supposed to, not just the way it looks like it does. Full credit to the original open-source project for the foundation. Everything from here is me shaping it into Donna. More coming soon.
