I collaborated with a client to develop and enhance a modern music streaming application that allows users to discover, stream, and organise their favourite music effortlessly. The goal was to create a fast, intuitive, and engaging platform with seamless audio playback, personalised recommendations, and a responsive user experience across multiple devices. What I Helped Them Do My role focused on improving both the frontend and backend of the application while ensuring high performance and scalability. I helped: Design and develop a modern, responsive music streaming interface. Build music browsing, search, and playlist management features. Implement secure user authentication and profile management. Integrate audio streaming functionality with smooth playback controls. Develop favourite songs, recently played, and personalised recommendations. Optimise application performance for faster loading and uninterrupted playback. Improve backend APIs and database efficiency. Fix UI inconsistencies and playback-related issues. Problems the Client Was Facing Before the improvements, the application experienced several issues that affected user engagement and performance, including: Slow loading of music libraries and playlists. Audio playback interruptions and buffering issues. Limited music discovery and inefficient search functionality. Poor playlist management and organisation. Inconsistent user experience across mobile and desktop devices. Performance bottlenecks when handling large music collections. Unresponsive interface elements and navigation issues. Backend inefficiencies affecting streaming performance. How I Solved Them To improve the platform, I: Optimised music streaming performance for smoother playback. Refactored the frontend to create a cleaner, faster, and more intuitive user interface. Enhanced search functionality with faster filtering and music discovery. Improved playlist creation, editing, and management features. Optimised backend APIs and database queries for better scalability. Implemented responsive layouts for a seamless cross-device experience. Improved error handling and playback reliability. Increased overall application performance through code optimisation and caching techniques.
