I am super happy to share my submission of the Config Makeathon competition!
As modern textile making practices have begun to prioritise machine centric textile making processes, we have begun to forget the knowledge and craft of traditional textile making practices - leaving them at risk of extinction.
'By Hand' focuses on preserving 3 endangered textiles in India, and takes you through a step by step process of creating these textiles, from processing the fabric, dyeing it, and creating custom designs.
Every new piece of work is added to a large collective quilt.
