I just built a fully automated AI Social Media Posting system using n8n and Google Gemini — here's exactly how it works and every problem I solved building it 🧵
Most businesses post content manually every day. Someone has to write the caption, format it for each platform, schedule it, then repeat tomorrow. I automated the entire process in one workflow.
Here's what happens automatically every morning at 9AM:
📅 Node 1 — Daily Schedule Trigger
The workflow wakes up automatically every day at 9AM. No manual starting. No forgetting. It just runs.
📊 Node 2 — Get Pending Posts (Google Sheets)
The workflow reads from a Google Sheet content calendar and pulls only rows where status is "Pending". This means you just add content ideas to a spreadsheet and the system handles everything else.
🤖 Node 3 — AI Caption Generator (Google Gemini)
This is where the magic happens. Gemini AI reads your raw content idea and automatically writes a platform-optimized post for Twitter, LinkedIn or TikTok — with the right tone, length and hashtags for each platform. What used to take 30 minutes now takes 3 seconds.
🔀 Node 4 — Route by Platform (Switch Node)
The workflow intelligently routes each post to the right platform based on what's in your content calendar. Twitter gets a short punchy caption. LinkedIn gets a professional detailed post. TikTok gets an engaging hook.
🐦 Node 5 — Post to X (Twitter)
The AI generated caption is posted directly to Twitter automatically.
💼 Node 6 — Post to LinkedIn
The professional version of the post goes live on LinkedIn without any manual action.
📱 Node 7 — Post to TikTok
The TikTok version is formatted and queued via HTTP Request automatically.

After posting the row in Google Sheets is automatically updated from "Pending" to "Posted" — so you never accidentally post the same content twice.

A Telegram message is sent confirming all posts went live with a summary of what was posted and where.
