Hayai is an AI-powered WhatsApp assistant I built for small businesses that handles customer conversations automatically — answering questions, replying naturally, and remembering context across a conversation instead of treating every message as a fresh start.
I built it using n8n for the workflow logic, Groq's LLaMA model for generating responses, and Meta's WhatsApp Business API to actually send and receive messages. One of the harder parts was getting the webhook setup reliable — I first tried self-hosting n8n on Railway, but kept hitting webhook registration failures, so I rebuilt the whole thing on n8n's cloud hosting with a permanent Meta system token instead. That fixed it for good.
The result is a bot a business owner can plug into their existing WhatsApp number, and it handles the repetitive
