Cover image for When your hands are in
When your hands are in darkroom chemicals, you can’t pick up the phone. Your clients should still be able to book. That’s the problem I set out to solve for Cámara Oscura Lab, a one-person analog photography studio in Poblenou, Barcelona. The owner shoots and develops everything himself, so a simple “Can I book a session?” can turn into missed calls and messages between shoots. I built a booking experience in Lovable that takes clients from that first question to a confirmed appointment. They choose a Portrait, Editorial or Event session, set the number of people, add lighting or wardrobe extras, and see the price update as they go. The calendar shows open slots, accounts for the full session duration and darkroom hours, and highlights golden-hour light. The owner gets a studio panel with upcoming sessions in list and calendar views, today’s bookings highlighted, and quick actions to mark a session completed or cancelled. It’s designed to make managing the schedule possible in the few minutes between shoots. The visual direction follows the same brief: film, texture and a slower pace, built around how this studio actually works. From “Can I book?” to “You’re booked,” without the back-and-forth.
