After a few versions - this is the final one that captures the mood and the style of where they want to go with the project.

This was fun to put this one together as part of some visual test shots for a film project. This is where my background in film and interior design can to life - I get to wear both hats.... I was starting to imagine the settings and the design of those settings. As a designer I get to step back in time and create with a different time period in mind. Also, as a designer, I need to think about the architecture and the overall mood of the color palette. This also ties into giving thought to the costumes and how they play in the settings. All the questions start to be answered with each iteration and "visual sketch." What is the mood like? What are the details that are missing or what is truly needed or not? How can lighting play into the layers of this? Of course, being a film person that always have music playing when I am designing a project - I use music as part of my sketching process. It is inspires me. Many times I'll share the ideas set to music for the client. It will not be what they will use in the end - but it taps into the emotional connection to the world that is being created. I love that. The visual sketches allow me as an artist and creative person to start trying out various ideas to see what feels good and how those can then be refined. The sequence I shared earlier today was a test run of the man's approach from the shore to the house. I loved that shot. The lighting and camera movement was beautiful . I love "blue hour" setting as they say in film. However, as I progressed with other shots and ideas - I moved away from this shot. I let go of it and moved on. Nothing set in stone - but the pieces of the tapestry start to make sense and then start coming to life. It's all about empowering the client to see the possibilities and start getting excited about what could be. The joys of the creative process wearing the many creative hats I can wear.

Bringing a film storyboard to life for a filmmaker looking to capture the mood of what they plan to bring to life as they prep the film. Fun to start "visually" sketching out ideas and moods. A new way to storyboard.

The movie inspired bedroom design that transformed this space.

This one was fun - taking an empty client primary bedroom space. Being a film person that loves design - the space reminded me of the Nancy Meyers film "Somethings Gotta Give" and Diane Keaton's character's primary bedroom. So I recreated it to capture the essence in this similar space. A bit of cinema magic.

This was a creatively fun project to make something that was like a movie - but also tie into the mood of a home setting.

Winter mood captured in this cinematic moment. A great chance to play with the idea of "blue hour" and the glow of lantern light in the production of this project. This was one part of a longer video that captured the essence of a "Hallmark style" holiday commercial.

Quick visual sketch for a potential short film. This is meant to help the team envision mood, lighting and overall production design feel for the project. Seeing is believing as the tapestry of a project comes to life.

Mood interiors... This one captures a cinematic vibe with the warm quality of the lighting and the layers of interior design. Yes, it's a laundry room, but it's inviting and captures a moment in a home environment that elevates it to something special.

All about creating a mood. A sample of a video that was creative as part of design "reveal" showcasing an empty, cluttered hallway and then transforming it into this inviting space. I was able to use the transformative power of paint color and use of lighting to drive home this design. We were able to capture the mood at different times of day in this setting - showing daylight (but also capturing evening lamp light mood too).

Love being able to show people the potential of what a space can look like after a renovation or new construction. Even for the purposes of a room makeover for a magazine or social media - I enjoy creating lifestyle images and videos to bring a style to life to promote a change, a product or simply to inspire people that "seeing is believing."

Lifestyle brands are a great chance to capture cinematic moments with great lighting, sweeping camera movements and beautiful details coming together. These give me a chance to bring my background of design and film to the creative table in one place. This is a sample of one portion of a video series being developed for a fashion designer that is starting out and the videos will be used to promote her brand on social media and for investor presentations. Once edited all together (which I will do as well) - adding music and dissolving transitions will create the movie magic we want.

Creating a mood is something that I enjoy doing with my projects. In this case, a winter storm outside leads to a warm and inviting kitchen space. This type of imagery and videos can be used for social media to promote a brand or a company that wants to capture the essence of a lifestyle that their audience connects to. So these can live as stills shot from various parts of the space to capture "moments" but it can also be an edited "cinematic style" video that captures a mood or creative direction.

All about creating a mood with this one. A winter vibe with an inviting space on the inside. The use of light and textures says - no place like home. Great example of producing visuals for a brand that wants to capture a lifestyle moment.

With my background in film and interior design, I love that I get to integrate all that into the layers of what I can bring to the table for clients wanting to bring their ideas or brands to life. In this case, an artist wanting to capture the essence of what their personal style is. So we created their "dream space" that could inspire their followers but also represent their growing brand.

This is part of the series of images and videos that I produced for an empty residential space that reminded me of the primary bedroom in the film "Somethings Gotta Give" - and so I brought it to life with these "behind-the-scenes" images that also had video content as well.
