Process

Discovery and Research
Client Meeting: I meet with you to discuss goals, target audience, budget, and project requirements.
Competitive Analysis: I conduct research of competitors to understand design trends and identify opportunities to stand out.
Audience Research: I identify your target audience to guide my design choices.
Project Scope Definition: I then outline project deliverables, deadlines, and budget in a scope document.
2. Planning and Strategy
Information Architecture (IA): I plan the site structure, main navigation, and page hierarchy.
Content Strategy: I identify the websites content needs such as text, images or videos and create a content plan. You (as the client) will also send me anything you specifically want to use - again things such as text, images or videos.
Wireframing: I develop a low-fidelity wireframe to outline the layout and basic functionality of each page.
User Flow Mapping: I create user flow diagrams in FigJam to illustrate how users will navigate the site and to give you the opportunity to see how many times certain features will be available on the website.
3. Design and Prototyping
Style Guide Creation: I develop a style guide with fonts, colours, and visual elements that align with the brand. If you already have a style guide to follow, you can send it over.
High-Fidelity Mockups: I create detailed mockups for key pages (e.g., homepage, product page, contact page) using Figma.
Interactive Prototyping: I build an interactive prototype to simulate user interactions and demonstrate the flow.
Client Feedback and Iterations: I present the designs to you for feedback and make necessary revisions.
4. Development
Hand over design to Developer: I hand over the design and source files to a developer to complete the front-end and back-end part of the website. OR
Hosting page implementation: Should the website be hosted on platforms like Framer, Wix or Squarespace, I will proceed with the implementation myself.
Functionality Implementation: I add specific features, like forms, animations, or e-commerce functionality.
6. Testing and Quality Assurance
Cross-Browser and Device Testing: I ensure the site works well on all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and screen sizes (desktop, tablet, mobile).
User Testing: I conduct a usability test to gather feedback on navigation and functionality and address any issues.
7. Client Review and Approval
Client Review: I present the final site to you for approval, incorporating any final feedback.
Final Revisions: I make any final adjustments based on your input.
8. Launch Preparation
Domain and Hosting Setup: I finalise hosting platforms and connect your domain.
9. Launch
Launch the Site: We go live with the website and conduct a final check on all pages, links, and functionality.
Monitoring: I will monitor site performance, user feedback, and analytics during the initial days after launch.
10. Post-Launch Support and Maintenance
Client Training: I provide training sessions for you on using the hosting platform and updating content.
Documentation Handoff: I provide you with all the source files, user guides (if we did the branding part of your business as well), style guides, and any other necessary documentation.
Ongoing Support and Maintenance: I offer post-launch support (if included), addressing any issues that arise and providing updates as needed for up to the 1 month after the launch date.

    Depending what platform the website will be hosted on - you will receive full rights and access to the hosting platform.

  • Design Assets

    Design Mockups: Finalised design mockups or wireframes, often provided in Figma. High-Resolution Images: Final versions of images used on the site, optimized for web. Icons and Illustrations: Custom icons, logos, and illustrations designed specifically for the site. If the brand was designed from scratch you will also receive - Branding Guidelines: Guidelines covering color palettes, typography, and any brand-specific design elements used in the site. Style Guide or Design System: A document that outlines the styling rules for consistent design, layout, and components.

  • Content

    Written Content: Finalized text for all pages, blog posts, product descriptions, etc., reviewed for SEO. Video and Audio Content: Compressed and web-optimized multimedia assets. SEO Metadata: Titles, meta descriptions, alt text, and any other SEO-related tags.

  • Functionality and Integrations

    CMS Setup: A configured Content Management System (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, or custom CMS) with basic training for you. E-Commerce Functionality: Cart, product pages, checkout, payment gateway integrations, etc., if applicable.

  • Responsive and Accessibility-Optimised Versions

    Mobile-Optimized Design: Responsive design adjustments for mobile and tablet views. Accessibility Compliance: Adjustments to meet accessibility standards like WCAG (colour contrast, alt text, screen reader compatibility).

  • Testing and Quality Assurance

    Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensuring the website works on all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). Performance Testing Results: Performance metrics (e.g., page load speed, responsiveness) and optimisations.

  • Hosting and Domain Configuration

    Hosting Configuration: Setup on the client’s hosting platform, including file uploads and server configuration. Domain Connection: Configuring the website with the client’s domain.

  • Project Handoff and Support

    Project Handoff Meeting: A final walkthrough with the client to explain key elements, functionality, and maintenance. Training Sessions: If required, training sessions for the client’s team on managing and updating the site. Support Agreement: A document outlining any post-launch support services.
