My copy editing service focuses on finished, polished manuscripts that are one step away from querying agents or publishing houses. I will focus on grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and sentence structure, and will provide minor sentence-level rewrites as needed. If you are looking for developmental editing (plot, characters, setting, etc.), that is a separate service.
My rate is $.008 a word, or $40 for every 5,000 words. For example, if your manuscript is 75,000 words, your rate would be $600.
What's included
I will copyedit your YA manuscript according to CMOS 17
I will return the edited manuscript with changes made to:
grammar,
punctuation,
spelling,
syntax, and
sentence structure for readability.
I will also include a Style Sheet for the writer to reference for additional manuscripts in the same series or for other editors to reference during their rounds of editing.
All original writing will be maintained to allow the client which rewrite suggestions to keep and which to delete.
