About this service

Summary

Working with your existing content is a beautiful thing, it gives a benchmark and can give the opportunity to gauge a true reflection of what you feel is working, and what isn't. Often, everything you want to say is already there - it maybe needs a rethink or a jiggle about to make it work. Sometimes, you know it isn't working but don't know why, and I can help with suggestions on what we could change.
When it comes to copy, less is more, but sometimes more is needed to explain and people are genuinely interested in what you have to say. So, how we say more without over facing can be the key to people interacting and understanding your content. We can look at how to uncomplicate the complicated considering user interaction at all times, and pull out important information for the skimmers of the world...
Using content elsewhere is key too, so picking out key aspects and reusing them, let's make the most of the words you have in front of you.

Process

Process
Step 1 - We would arrange a brief review and introduction call (45 minute minimum) including brief overview, priority check list, expectations on timings and deliverables, providing previous examples of your content/TOV for review. Discussing why you want to change what you have, what is working and what is not, and what your expectations are.
Step 2 - I would then take some time to familiarise myself with your brand (2 hours minimum)
Step 3 - I would reflect the brief back to you and confirm our agreed scope of works, including any questions from the brand familiarisation stage, and the quotation for the work, sending to you for confirmation (2 hour minimum)
Step 4 - Initial suggestions inline with our agreed approach (3 hours minimum)
Step 5 - You then have the opportunity to take in feedback over the phone/via copy annotations, which we can discuss or apply.
On receipt of feedback, I would work through the remaining content. If there was a considerable amount of copy, I would suggest segmenting, and reviewing in sections. Agreeing this approach prior to starting the work.
Step 6 - provide the final document as per our agreed schedule.
I will anticipate two rounds of amends, and stipulate how many changes this includes in my quotation.

What's included

  • Annotated Word document with track changes

Depending on your brief, I would provide a Word document complete with annotations of suggested changes. I may well edit the copy and allow for tracked changes should there be a lot of content. (If the content you need to edit is within a PDF I could mark up the PDF, though my preference is to work in Word and I would likely copy the content into this program).
