Though new to this platform (Contra), I've been creating professional websites for over 12 years and founded a strategic design studio. But to me it's much more than just ticking boxes and arranging components on a screen. The process of web design and development is truly about crafting a brand expression that is authentic, informative and engaging.

Process

💡 A quick overview of how we get from your amazing idea to end-product:

1 | Discovery We will sit down and work through your initial ideas, vision and goals for this project. This is the fun part where we go over everything to help make your ambitions become actuality. Designs, colours, inspiration... everything is put on the table. We'll also cover the best ways to work together and get to know one another - key parts of any successful partnership! 2 | Research & Development After collating all the helpful information you've provided, I will conduct additional research on content, systems and creative inspiration that will inform the end product. After which, I will further develop several ideas into an initial design that will be shared for feedback and iteration prior to final build.

3 | Feedback & Revisions I'll share prototype designs with you and am keen to get your feedback, comments and suggestions. What works, what doesn't, what you love and any other improvements you'd like to see. I'll then incorporate those changes and produce another design for further review. I offer two rounds of revisions and will aim to get these completed within a short time frame (depending on the complexity and number of changes required).

4 | Build We are on the home stretch! During this phase your website will be built, tested and optimised as per the agreed upon final design. You'll receive regular progress updates so you will know where things are at along the way.

5 | Delivery In this last (and most exciting) phase, your website will be sent over to you, along with all the necessary documentation, including style guides and walk through guides to help you run your brand new site!

FAQs

What experience do you have in web design?
Over my 12+ year career I have designed and built fully-functional, performant and responsive websites for clients of varying sizes across multiple industries. This includes a mid-sized IT service provider, a leading SaaS provider ($500m), e-commerce stores, media personalities and more. Outside of my freelance work I have also built a dedicated strategic design studio which includes web site design and development as part of the creative services on offer.
What platforms do you use?
I utilise WordPress, Elementor, Squarespace, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Ahrefs, Yoast and many other third-party platforms and services to produce highly-customised, performant websites.
Do you use templates or AI?
Nope! All designs are 100% original and human-made. You can be assured that your website will stand out from the pack of cookie-cutter and drag-and-drop, machine-outsourced designs that have gunked up the market.
Do you include copywriting too?
We can work together on the basic page headers ("hero" text and sub-headings) and other high-level text to ensure your page has a solid framework to build off. Human-friendly (not "Lorem Ipsum") placeholder text will then be used to fill out the rest of the design, ready for your final copy.
Do you include SEO?
Yes! All pages will have custom metadata (titles, imagery and descriptions) to ensure they appear on-brand and are informative when displayed in search results and/or shared through other online platforms (EG: Social).
What is included in this service?

What's included

Website (Optimised, Responsive & Accessible)
I will collaborate with you to design and produce a fully functional, ready-to-launch, 3-5 page website with a responsive layout (Mobile, Tablet and Desktop friendly). The website will be optimised for speed, discoverability (SEO) and accessibility standards (WCAG, W3C-APA). This design may include animated and interactive components, such as forms, menus and other widgets as needed.
Style Guide & Design Documentation
To ensure brand and style consistencies with any future revisions to your new website, you will also receive comprehensive design documentation that includes a detailed style guide, component overview and wireframe layout.
Guided Walkthrough
So that you can get up and running with your website as soon as possible, I will produce a detailed walkthrough guide that covers the core website design and all included features.
