About this service

Summary

Do you have a need for a more robust piece of content, such as a report, an ebook, a lead magnet, or a PDF download?
Do you need a large suite of content produced by someone who is not you or a member of your team, such as a collection of new webpages, an email funnel, or help desk articles?
Or, are you starting a new marketing endeavor and need content, but aren't sure exactly what?
Send me a direct message with your needs and I will let you know if I'm a good fit for your project!

Process

Here is my process for determining if I'll be a good fit for your copy project.
Quick direct message with what you are looking for so I can determine if I might be a fit for your needs.
If yes, a 30-minute Calendly call to talk through your goals and your current team's operating style (i.e., would I be the only copywriter, part of a team of writers/marketers, or a partner in your marketing strategy).
Creation of a scope that outlines the parameters of your project. This will include items like number of drafts/revisions, calls with you and your team, expectations for editing and design, etc.
If we decide to work together, this is what would be involved in the content creation process:
Initial call to talk through the goals of the content. I can provide brainstorming/consulting if you are more than halfway to the final idea but there needs to be further refinement of the project before I start copy.
Delivery of any resources I might need to do the work effectively. For example, a brand style guide, audience demographic/psychographic information or personas, examples of similar marketing projects or marketing you like from others in your space, previous wins or pitfalls from previous marketing efforts.
Submission of a content outline(s) for your approval, to confirm we are on the same page.
Your approval or amendment of the outline before writing begins.
Delivery of first content draft.
Your team's revisions submitted in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, or a similar tool. Note: I do not recommend submitting revisions over email, Slack, or Teams for a larger piece of content or a suite of content, as revisions often get lost or contradict each other and it adds project time.
Incorporation of your revisions and proofreading.
Check-in with your team. Now that you have a finished draft, is it meeting all the requirements of your project? Is anything missing that you would like to add? If necessary, discussion of an extension of scope.
Delivery of the final draft and/or any additional content items.
Project wrap-up call. How did you feel the project went, and is there anything you would've changed about the process? Is it possible for me to see final metrics from the project to understand its performance?
Here are some optional services I can offer for an additional fee, depending on the current bandwidth of your team.
Copy editing: I have worked as an editor for a marketing team before and can self-edit using AP Style and your internal brand style guide.
Webpage layout: I can lay out the final content within an existing website, landing page, or pop-up. I am most familiar with WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, and Bettermode but am willing to try my hand at other CMS or tools.
Email layout: I can lay out the copy within an existing email tool. I am most familiar with Mailchimp but am willing to work with whatever mail tool you use.
Basic Canva design: Is your copy part of a download, slide deck, graphic, etc.? I can help with Canva design, especially pieces like posters, 1-pagers, social media graphics, and ebook downloads.

FAQs

  • What will the price be?

I create a custom price for every project since needs vary wildly between different organization and team types. Even between similar project types, the subject matter may be more or less technical, the page count may differ, or there may be different levels of revisions - all of which can add to my working time as the writer. This is part of the reason I incorporate a call with every potential client, to understand your audience, needs, and budget.

What's included

  • Content outline

I will provide a content outline to determine that we are on the same page for your copy project. This is especially important with longer content pieces such as ebooks and reports or general marketing/sales/fundraising materials that will be used over and over.

  • Revisions

I will work with you to determine how many rounds of revisions will be required for the project.

  • Final content

I will deliver finalized copy that resonates with your audience, helps your organizations achieve its goals, and meets your your requirements for quality and brand voice.
