As great as your writing skills might be, you are only human at the end of the day and your brain will always look for shortcuts! The more you read the same piece of writing, the less likely you are to find errors. Your brain will fill in the gaps, skip forward and deceive you into seeing a flawless text.
Beyond the limitations of our brains, writers can be quite sentimental when it comes to the words they have laid down on a page. I speak from experience. It is very hard to “kill your [own] darlings” like Stephen King so brilliantly suggests… So, hire me as an (t)ex(t)ecutioner?
Prices start at €57 (~$62) for 2,000 words with a turnaround of 4 days or less. For longer projects, you can get in touch with me to discuss specifics!

Process

I will face your text with a fresh set of eyes and a clear, unbiased mind to give it a deep-review and provide you with:
A proofreading file—where all typos or mistakes will have been exterminated and any grammar crime absolved.
A fully edited file—where I will have worked my magic to optimise the flow of your text, its punctuation and making any structural edits as needed.
Why two files?
From my experience, this is a great way to reduce the amount of revisions needed on a project.
Because part of the editing process is about structural changes and flow optimisation, it would usually be where our point of view diverges. When you receive two files, you can make an educated decision on whether that's enough or request a revision.
If we are working with a tool (such as Google Docs) that provides a version system, feel free to specify that you only want one final file. I would still recommend having the two separate files, as it makes it easier to cross-reference versions if you want to pick-and-mix your own Franken-lines.
About revisions
📝For clarity, here is how a revision is defined: a request to alter the final work that I submitted to you, the client. A revision can contain multiple edit requests as long as it is within the reasonable. For instance, as part of one revision:
You cannot ask me to review a completely different document;
You can ask me to tweak the structure of a sentence and swap a few words to match your voice.
You get one free revision, any additional ones after that will be €20 (~$23) each.
Please, bear in mind that depending on the nature and amount of revisions requested, it might take longer to deliver your project.
I will always be mindful of your time when working on a project, and I demand that you reciprocate the thought and do not abuse the revision system. ⏳

What's included

  • A proofed version of your text

    I will thoroughly go over the content of your document, taking notes of any mistakes, typos, or grammar issues. The first file that you receive will simply be a copy of your content with all the typos and mistakes fixed.

  • A fully edited version of your text

    If I uncover any opportunities to improve the flow of your text, I will give you a separate file with all the edits applied. This allows you to choose if you want to keep changes I made to the structure, punctuation, or overall flow of your content.

  • A free round of revisions

    If you want me to alter my edited version, I include one free round of revisions in the price!
