About this service

Summary

👋 Hey there! I specialize in designing engaging, user-friendly websites for small–mid-sized businesses or entrepreneurs looking to launch a new brand on the web or re-position an existing site.
As your creative partner, I’ll strategically approach each aspect of your website with meticulous attention to detail and consideration for your business goals, usability needs and current/desired audience.

Process

Discovery Call – We will discuss your brand, vision and project scope. I will ask questions such as:
Research + Style Boards – I will perform a complete audit of your existing site (if applicable) as well as any relevant competitor or inspirational sites. I will then compile a selection of visual elements into 1–2 style boards that will help establish a recommended direction for the updated site design. This part of the process can be up to three rounds for any necessary revisions and refinements.
Style Board Review + Feedback – At this stage, we can communicate via direct message, or if preferred, we can schedule a call to review style board options.
Design – Once a style board has been approved, I will move into the design phase and create 1–2 landing page directions based on the feedback and style reference. This stage of the process can include up to four rounds of feedback for any necessary revisions.
Design Review – I will send the landing page design for review.
Design + Prototype Refinements – I will make revisions to the landing page based on the feedback.
Delivery – Once the design has been approved, I will hand off the Figma file, UI kit and assets.

FAQs

  • How long will it take to complete the project?

The project timeline depends on various factors, including the complexity of the design, the scope of features and the efficiency of feedback exchange. For landing pages, typically I aim for a 4–6 week timeline with the understanding that prompt client feedback plays a crucial role in meeting deadlines. I’m committed to maintaining open communication throughout the process to ensure timely progress and address any potential delays proactively.

  • Do you take on projects with faster deadlines? I need a new website designed ASAP.

No, in order to maintain integrity in the quality and strategic output of each project, I do not accommodate expedited timelines or rush jobs. Project engagements for a 2–5 page website design typically take a minimum of four weeks.

  • What are your qualifications?

I have nearly a decade of design experience and have worked professionally as a designer in creative agencies for over 5 years, as well as many contract roles. In my career, I have led and contributed to the completion of hundreds of unique projects with clients from the following industries: Beauty/Wellness, Education, Entertainment, Finance, Food/Beverage, Healthcare, Hospitality, Property Services, Real Estate, Retail and Tech/SaaS

  • What if I don’t have a logo or brand guidelines?

No worries! In the project kickoff, we will review any existing brand elements and discuss whether or not a logo is crucial to launching your site. Getting into a full visual identity design can be a lengthy and tedious process. And although logos are definitely an important part of a brand, it’s possible to start out by using a simple wordmark with your company name. In fact, you may notice that even many large, modern brands lean away from complex logos and often use simple typographic wordmarks to communicate their name.

  • What if I have a logo but don’t like it?

In the project kickoff, we will review any existing brand elements and discuss any issues you may have with your current logo. Sometimes a new site design or other minor adjustments is all it takes to help improve the appearance of a logo. If we explore some alternative options and it still isn’t working, we can try another solution such as using a simple wordmark with your company name.

  • Why don’t you include wireframes in your process?

Although I don’t usually share wireframes as part of the review process, I still create them for personal use as I plan and ideate through the structure of a website. If you’re interested in seeing wireframes before we jump into designs, please let me know and I’d be happy to share them!

  • Do you design eCommerce sites?

No, I currently do not offer web design services for eCommerce sites, but I hope to eventually!
