I take mobile products from zero to one in areas where poor UX has real consequences, like medtech, fintech and KYC. Research comes first, then a scalable design system and developer ready UI for iOS and Android. Screens come last. I start with the system around them.
What is included, starting with an MVP of up to 20 screens:
Discovery and competitor teardown. User research such as card sorts, tree tests or usability sessions, depending on the problem. User flows and information architecture. Design system foundation with tokens and components. High fidelity UI in Figma with an interactive prototype. Usability test of the final flows plus one iteration round. Developer handover with annotations.
Proof:
Airese, a sleep apnea screening app, replaced a 27 step paper intake with a single night at home. Six doctors across three countries committed before launch. On BINGO KYC, onboarding completion went from 45% to 98% and task time dropped from over 5 minutes to 1:12.Pricing: $85 per hour. Senior product designers in the US charge $80 to $135 per hour, and agencies quote $15k to $40k for a 15 to 25 screen MVP design. Zero to one work usually runs about 30 hours a week for 5 to 6 weeks. We agree on scope and a weekly hour cap in writing before anything starts.
Terms:
Every engagement starts with a Statement of Work and an SLA covering scope, weekly hour cap, revision rounds and response times. Both of us sign it before work begins. The first week of hours is paid upfront to hold the slot. After that I log hours and bill weekly through Contra, so payments are protected for both of us.
