About this service
Summary
This package is intended for tech companies that need to publish at least four blog posts monthly to keep the community interested in their work. The exact recipe depends on your content marketing strategy. A generally good one I recommend is two technical blog posts, one thought leadership piece, and one client feature / case study.
Process
Let's start with a content plan. The content plan basically says what and when we are publishing, what channel we push this blog content in, how we reuse bits of the content to maintain a healthy publishing pace. If you don't have a content plan, I will help you develop and maintain it over time.

FAQs
What is a regular post?
A regular post is between 800 and 1200 words. Long-form posts, typically above 1200 words, take more time and effort to craft. They are not covered by this package, but if you are interested in long-form posts, talk to me, and we'll come to an agreement.
Could it be 2 posts a month? Or 8?
Yes, let's chat.
What if we decide to postpone rolling out a feature that we were going to discuss in a blog post?
I recommend having a minimum of two posts ready at all times to replace the one that bites the dust.
Do you do research and link to sources?
I always do due research and have my posts fact-checked by experts in my client's company. How much linking to sources will be done in the final draft ultimately depends on you. I can be Wikipedia-pedantic if you like.
How do you write release notes?
A typical software release includes new features, improvements, and a number of fixes—some trivial and some critical. The trick is to know what to focus on exactly, what level of detail to stick with, and when to stop and just list some things under "Misc changes". Step 1 is to compile the overall list of changes; I can extract that from 'git log'. Step 2 is to categorize and group the changes. Step 3 is to assign importance to each one, then write the copy and make illustrations. The first few times I will need some help setting feature priorities. Once I know my way around the product, I can do that myself.
What's included
Technical Blog Posts
A technical blog post can introduce a new feature, explain some important concepts your application or SaaS relies on, or be something else entirely. I will help you define the purpose and scope of each technical post, then write it and create illustrations.
Thought Leadership Posts
This is where you can be as opinionated as you need to be to drive your point across. The posts will follow your style guidelines regarding tone of voice and language. If you don't have the guidelines, I will help you develop those (in a separate project).
Release Notes
I will review the raw list of changes, group them, prioritize changes within the groups, and then write a relatable copy that explains how the new features you implemented will benefit your users. I will also illustrate these features and, where applicable, make short video demonstrations.

I hired Alex for the first time years ago because I really liked the quality of his articles on his blog. He ended up doing several projects for me. Every time he delivered great results that required very little tweaking after the first draft. I will gladly work with him again in the future.
