I worked on a budget forecasting project in Excel where I used actual financial data as a base and then created different scenarios to understand how changes in expenses would affect the overall results.
I started with the actual dataset as the base case. Then I created two additional scenarios ā one where expenses were increased by 15% (worst case) and another where expenses were reduced by 15% (ideal case). This helped in comparing how different situations could impact financial performance.
After that, I built an income statement that was linked to all three scenarios. I also added a simple selection feature, so when a different scenario is chosen, the income statement automatically updates based on that selection.
This project helped me understand how to structure financial data, build forecasting models, and connect everything in a way that is easy to use and useful for decision-making.

Hey Contra community š
I'm jumping in officially ā this is my first post and I'm excited to start building here.
A little about me: I recently wrapped up a data analyst internship and I'm now stepping into freelancing full-time. My background is in Financial Mathematics (BSc), which means I don't just work with data ā I actually understand what the numbers mean for a business.
What I'm comfortable doing for you:
ā Building Excel dashboards and reports you can actually use
ā Data entry and cleaning (yes, the unglamorous stuff ā I do it well)
ā Budgeting models and financial forecasts
ā Variance analysis and basic financial modelling
I'm at the beginning of this journey, so I'm focused on doing great work, building trust, and growing my portfolio. If you have a project ā big or small ā I'd love to hear about it.
Feel free to reach out. Let's see if we're a good fit š¤
