Since 2020 I have researched true crime for my Substack. This is still going strong and features two cases in particular: Suzy Lamplugh, who disappeared in London in 1986, and the murder of French film producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier in Ireland in 1996.

In 2020 I started writing a series of pulp crime novels featuring a private detective duo and set in 1950s Yorkshire, England, but written in the pot-boiled American style.

In 2024 I wrote about the history of British Gangs in hardback for Pen & Sword. This covered the main period of the Peaky Blinders, the famous Birmingham gang, and others around the UK and Ireland.
