Project Šipk

The project deals with a topic that is very close to the local (especially the older population) and the Slovenian population and offers them the opportunity to look into their own past, and presents tourism workers with an opportunity to design and market a new tourist product.

Recently, we have witnessed an increase in interest in the travel culture of the post-war period, where the offer of tourist itineraries through former socialist cities and countries, e.g. Bulgaria; East Berlin. The proposed project represents an opportunity to create new tourist products for the municipality of Piran.By setting up a museum exhibition on the theme of holiday homes, the historical period will be presented, when tourism became more and more accessible to the masses.

The exhibition was arranged in the premises of the PAK headquarters in Piran, which will undoubtedly contribute to the promotion of this institution and to the enrichment of the tourist offer of the city itself and the municipality. Visitors to the exhibition were introduced to the development of a specific form of tourism in a real environment, through the exhibition of archival and promotional material from the period after the Second World War, which is mostly inaccessible to people outside the profession.
